Keep them warm!

My friend had a baby last summer and decided it was so hot the baby didn’t need to be dressed warm! Of course he caught a cold and got very sick. Even in hot weather newborns should be kept very warm, even with a cap on when you go outside!

Switching beds

I thought I’d ask this here since most of you have probably made the switch out of the crib. My son is 27 months. I’m due with #2 in 4 months. We had planned on waiting until the month before the baby comes to switch, but he has been showing signs for the past 2 weeks that he’d rather be in a big kid bed now. I’ve already ordered the bed rail I like and went today to get the furniture I thought I wanted. The bed seemed kind of high to me, like he’d need a step stool to get into it. That made me nervous so I didn’t buy it yet. In the long run I’d like to have this furniture set, and ideally I don’t want to buy a toddler bed just for a couple months.

It is a Captain’s bed that includes a bunkie board instead of a box spring, but still looked to be about 32-34″ from the ground to top of the mattress. Is this high for a twin bed or is it just me? Should I just let him sleep on a mattress on the floor to adjust and buy the furniture later? Any suggestions would be great.

Picking up my baby

A lot of people have told me I shouldn’t pick up my baby (who is now 2 weeks old) when she cries at night and that I should have a schedule and only pick her up according to feeding/changing times.

Is this true?

Doesn’t breath!

My baby sometimes screams, and holds his breath! I’m not sure what to do about this and I always panic when he does this! Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to stop this most quickly?

Getting sleep

I have my newborn sleep in the bed with me for convenience. Several times I’ve actually rolled over onto him or caught him just as he was rolling off the bed! what can I do to get some sleep but have my baby close by?
